Odisha to Intensify ‘Mu Bi Covid Yodha’ Campaign

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy today urged four departments to work in tandem at field level and intensify the ‘Mu Bi Covid Yodha’ (I am also Covid warrior) campaign through active community involvement.

Reviewing the progress of the special campaign at the Lok Seva Bhavan, the Chief Secretary asked Panchaytai Raj & Drinking Water, Women & Child Development and Mission Shakti, Housing & Urban Development and Information & Public Relations departments to organize ward level Covid Committee meetings within the current week in both rural and urban areas to intensify the campaign.

“Information, Education and Communication are the key to win the fight against Covid-19 and check the possible spread of the pandemic”, he said.

An aware and alert community can achieve wonders in our fight against this unseen enemy, Tripathy added.

Information and Public Relations (I& PR) Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh outlined the issues and presented the campaign themes for discussions at the meeting.

The I&PR Secretary said that the campaign aims to inculcate the values of self-responsibility with the spirit – ‘Ama Swasthya Ama Hatare’ (our health in our hand).

The main themes of the campaign include personal hygiene, hand washing, use of mask, social distancing, care of the old and vulnerable, eradication of social stigma, self-monitoring, community surveillance quarantine and making use of 104 and telemedicine, he added.
