Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to extend helmet rule to pillion riders in the State.
The pillion riders will also have to wear helmet while travelling.
This has been informed by Odisha Transport Minister Padmanabh Behera after a road safety meeting in New Delhi.
The helmet which is mandatory for motorcycle riders will now be made compulsory for pillion rider too. And, strong action will be taken against defaulters, the Minister said.
He further said that checking drive against for traffic violation will be intensified after completion of three-month relaxation period.
