Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 vaccination of the children in the age group of 12-14 will begin from tomorrow in Odisha.
The vaccine to be administered would be Corbevax, manufactured by Biological E. Limited, Hyderabad.
The online registration for vaccination will start at 9 am on Wednesday. However, onsite walk-in will also be available.
Odisha Family Welfare Director Dr. Bijay Panigrahi informed that over 6000 health workers will be engaged for vaccinating 15.21 lakh children in this age group in the State.
Children born before Mar 15, 2010, can take the COVID vaccine. Birth certificate is mandatory. Registration can be done in both online/offline mode, he said.
As many as 15.47 lakh vaccine doses are available with the State now, the official added.
The Centre has clarified that if the beneficiary is registered but has not attained the age of 12 years on the date of vaccination, the vaccine will not be administered.
