Cuttack: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths have apprehended Sunil Kumar Behera – Commandant, 1st Battalion, OSAP, Dhenkanal yesterday. Based on reliable information, the Vigilance team intercepted Sunil Behera near Madhusudan Setu, CDA, Sector-11, while coming from Dhenkanal to his residence at Cuttack. The Vigilance recovered cash of Rs.1,31,535, suspected to be ill-gotten cash from his possession. As he couldn’t account for satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized. Following this, Rs.8.70 Lakhs was also recovered during house search at his residential house at Cuttack. Total cash recovered so far comes to Rs.10, 01, 535. Following the interception, simultaneous searches are going on at five locations from disproportionate assets angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds.
