Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested a block junior engineer in Deogarh district for allegedly taking bribe from a contractor.
Bijayananda Sahu, Jr. Engineer, Tileibani Block was apprehended by the vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 8000 from a contractor for facilitating release of the final bill of the work executed by him.
In this connection, the Rourkela Vigilance PS case has been registered. The investigation in the matter is in progress, Vigilance said.
