Odisha Vigilance Arrests CHC Jr. Assistant for Taking Bribe from BPL Villager

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested a Junior Assistant of Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kalahandi district for allegedly taking bribe from a BPL villager.

“M. Dibyajyoti, Junior Assistant, Community Health Centre, Th.Rampur, Kalahandi has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while taking bribe of Rs.9,000/- from a BPL villager inorder to process the file for issuance of death certificate of his late father”, the Vigilance said.

The complaint and five other BPL villagers had recently applied for Death Certificates of deceased family members at the CHC. For this, Dibyajyoti demanded Rs 18,000 as bribe @ Rs 3000 per certificate in 2 installments and was nabbed while taking the 1st installment.

The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Dibyajyoti and seized in presence of witnesses.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the Govt. residential quarter of Dibyajyoti at Th.Rampur in Kalahandi and house at native village Mahendrapur, PS-Dhenkanal Sadar, Dhenkanal.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS case No. 28/22 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress, the vigilance added.
