Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths today unearthed assets worth Rs 4 crore during raids related to the disproportionate assets case of an Anganwadi Worker Kabita Mathan. The raids were carried out in various places including the capital and outskirts. Kabita is working as an Anganwadi Worker at the Koradakanta Anganwadi Kendra in Bhubaneswar.
According to a Vigilance Department release, raids were conducted at six places including Khorda, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur districts by six teams consisting of 10 DSPs and five Inspectors.
During the raids, the vigilance sleuths have unearthed huge amounts of property including four multi storied buildings in Bhubaneswar, 14 plots, a four wheeler, 3 two wheelers, insurance deposits, gold ornaments, and other movable and immovable property reportedly owned by Mathan and her family members.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches were carried out on the properties of Kabita Mathan. The properties found include four numbers of buildings including one four storied building, one triple storeyed building and two double storied buildings at Bhubaneswar, fourteen plots including ten at Bhubaneswar, three at Talakusuma, Jagatsinghpur and one plot at Balianta, Khorda. Other valuables unearthed during the searches include one four wheeler, three two wheelers, insurance deposits worth Rs.2.2 lakh, gold ornaments weighing approx 212 grams worth over Rs.6.36 lakh other movable and immovable properties. The total properties totaling to over Rs 4 crore have been unearthed during the house search till now. Further searches are continuing.
