Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday unearthed properties worth over crores during the house searches of Biswabandhu Panigrahi, Superintending Engineer, PH, O/o EIC, PH Division, Bhubaneswar.
Based on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by Panigrahi, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by the Vigilance sleuths at six places in Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak districts linked with the Superintending Engineer.
The Vigilance officials unearthed two buildings including one double storeyed building at Bhubaneswar with area approx 2500 sqft, 4 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak, advance Rs.39 lakhs paid towards purchase of a 3 bhk flat at Bhubaneswar, insurance deposits over Rs 51 lakhs, cash Rs.2 lakhs, gold approx 250 gms, along with other assets during searches on properties linked to the Superintending Engineer.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Panigrahi and his family members;
1) Double storeyed building with area approx 2500 Sqft. over plot No.9505, House No.G/L-73 at VSS Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
2) Agreement made with Assotech(Realtor) and advance Rs. 39 Lakhs paid by Sri Panigrahi to purchase three BHK Flat in name of his spouse in Tower No.B5-0202 of Assotech Pride, Rudrapur, Bhubaneswar.
3) One single storeyed building with area of approx 3500 sqft over plot No.1472/4523 at Mathasahi, Bhadrak.
4) 4 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak. Details as under;
i) A piece of land measuring an area of 290 dec. vide Khata No-1330/9558 and Plot No-3242/13750/15055, Mauza-Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
ii) A piece of land measuring an area of 5000 Sqft. vide Khata No-1330/7824 and Plot No-3242/13984, Mauza-Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
iii) A piece of land measuring an area of 8 dec. vide Khata No-1336/43 and Plot No-3363/5795, Mauza-Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
iv) A piece of land measuring an area of 3050 Sqft,. vide Khata No-776/1359 and Plot No-1472/4523, Mauza-Mathasahi, Bhadrak.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
5) Cash Rs.2 Lakhs.
6) Gold weighing approx 250 gms.
6) Insurance deposits over Rs.51 Lakhs.
7) Bank, Postal and other deposits are under verification.
8) 1 four wheeler and 4 two wheelers.
7 DSPs, 5 Inspectors, 8 ASIs and other staff are conducting search on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. Searches are in progress, the Vigilance informed.
