New Delhi: In yet another recognition to the State’s efforts towards building a world-class sporting ecosystem, the Odisha Government has been conferred with the prestigious Hockey India President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement 2019 at the 3rd Hockey India Annual Awards at New Delhi.

The award carries Rs 5 lakh and a trophy.
Expressing happiness over the achievement, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that his government remains firmly committed towards positioning Odisha a global hub for sports.
The CM also thanked the Hockey India.
Taking to Twitter, Naveen wrote, “Thank @ the Hockey India for the recognising Odisha’s efforts towards building a world-class sporting ecosystem that not only enriches sporting disciplines but also transforms lives of sports persons. We remain firmly committed towards positioning Odisha as a global hub for sports”.
Harbinder Singh won the prestigious Hockey India Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award 2019, while Manpreet Singh and Rani won the Hockey India Dhruv Batra Player of the Year Award 2019 for Men and Women respectively, at the Hockey India 3rd Annual Awards 2019. This year, the total prize money was in excess of INR 1.64 Crore.
