Bhubaneswar: In yet another major decision towards economic empowerment of women in Odisha, the State Government has decided to hand over panchayat ponds to women self-help groups (SHGs).
A proposal in this regard has been approved by State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday.
The Cabinet approved nine proposals of Panchayati Raj, Urban Development, Works and other departments, according to reports.
However, there was no briefing to the press on the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting as the Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly is underway, reports added.
