Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ace hockey player Amit Rohidas has found place in the 18-member Indian Men’s Hockey Team announced by the Hockey India for the Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023.
The Champions Trophy will be held at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai from 3rd August to 12th August.
Amit Rohidas is the only player from Odisha selected in the team, which will be led by ace dragflicker and defender Harmanpreet Singh and Vice Captained by the prolific midfielder Hardik Singh.
India will face Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, and China during the Pool stage of the tournament. The Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023 will also serve as a preparation event for the crucial Hangzhou Asian Games 2023.
