On International Day of Girl Child, Odisha CM Urges All to Remove Biases towards Girls

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today urged all to remove biases and barriers towards girl children in order to help them realise their true potential.

Every day girls around the world are breaking boundaries and barriers with their courage and tenacity, said the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the occasion of International Day of Girl Child today.

On Day of the Girl, let’s pledge to remove biases and barriers which limit their future prospects to help them realise their true potential, Naveen insisted.

On his twitter post, the CM wrote, “Every day girls around the world are breaking boundaries and barriers with their courage and tenacity. On Day of the Girl, let’s pledge to remove biases and barriers which limit their future prospects to help them realise their true potential”.

The International Day of the Girl Child, also called the Day of Girls and the International Day of the Girl, focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights. October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl Child. The observation supports more opportunity for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide based upon their gender.
