Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of National Handloom Day today, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has highlighted the rich legacy and craftsmanship of Utkala, the land of excellence in art.
Taking to Twitter, the CM said that Odisha has a treasure trove of exquisite handloom honed over generations by dexterous artists and craftsmen.

7th August is celebrated as the National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on the same date in the year 1905. The objective is to generate awareness about the Handloom Industry among the public and its contribution to socio-economic development.
