‘One Nation, One Ration Card’: Odisha Govt Extends 15 Days to Link Aadhaar-Ration Card

Bhubaneswar: In a major relief to the people of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, the last date for linking Aadhaar card with ration card have been extended for another 15 days setting the deadline September 15 official sources said today.


The Minister for Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Ranendra Pratap Swain however said, ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme would be implemented on a pilot basis in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) jurisdiction from September 1.

According to sources, it would be implemented in 127 fair price shops in 67 wards of the BMC from September 1.

At present, the beneficiaries covered under NFSA and State Food Security Scheme get five kg subsidized food grains per head every month.

The state government has also rolled out a pilot project in Malkangiri district to supply fortified rice grains containing iron, folic acid, Vitamin A and Vitamin B12 to reduce malnutrition among the PDS beneficiaries.
