Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has junked the petition seeking the cancellation of the India-South Africa T20 match at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack to be held on June 12.
The public interest litigation (PIL) petition was filed before the High Court on June 1 seeking the cancellation T20 International match at Barabati Stadium citing lack of adequate fire safety measures.
The Odisha Government had told the High Court that all necessary preparations have been done including the implementation of adequate fire safety measures for the safety of the audience.
The petition had as many as 15 respondents including the Odisha government and BCCI, as per reports.
The petition was filed by one Sanjay Nayak of Bhuban in the Dhenkanal district.
