Oxygen Crisis: Odisha Police Facilitates Seamless Transportation of 869 Tons Of Oxygen

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its efforts to keep the commitment made, Odisha Police is leaving no stone unturned and is helping the various states in transporting medical Oxygen without any hurdles. Till now, Odisha police has escorted 49 Oxygen tankers/containers carrying 869 tonnes of Oxygen from Rourkela, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul. The tankers are being escorted in a dedicated corridor created for the purpose with round the clock monitoring.

According to a statement issued by Odisha Police, “Odisha Police is committed to ensure that there is no delay in loading and transporting so as to promptly serve thousands of patients in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Maharastra, Andhra, Telengana, and other needy states,”.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had directed Odisha Police to set up a special cell for coordinated action for loading and transporting of medical oxygen by Odisha to other states facing deficit. While ADG (Law and Order) Y K Jethwa is heading the Cell, all district Superintendents of Police, DCPs and Range DIGs are supervising the movement in their respective areas.
