Padampur By-poll: Barsha Singh Bariha Breaks Her Father’s Record of Vote Margin to Win with 42,065 Votes

Bhubaneswar: The Padampur by-poll has once again showed that the Biju Janata Dal is the only party that the people of Odisha believe in. Though the result has surprised many, it was in expected lines.

While the Naveen Magic worked wonders for the Party, Barsha Singh Bariha has received record margin votes to defeat her BJP opponent. While Barsha has received 1,19,512 votes, Pradip Purohit got 77447 votes.

This is the highest ever margin that a candidate has won in Padampur Assembly Constituency. Earlier in 1990, Barsha Singh Bariha’s father Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha had defeated Satya Bhushan Sahu with a margin of 30410 votes. Barsha has broken her father’s record this time with 42,065 margin votes.
