Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal is all set to register a huge victory in the 2022 Panchayat elections for which counting is underway.
The BJD has won 289 Zilla Parishad (ZP) seats out of 322 seats, the results of which have been declared by the State Election Commission.
The BJP won only 15seats, Congress 14 and other parties got 4 seats.
The counting for the 315 Zilla Parishad (ZP) zones started on Saturday while counting for 305 ZP zones was underway on Sunday.
As per the latest election result trends, the BJD is leading in 550 seats, BJP in 31 seats and Congress 32 seats on the second day of counting of votes.
Counting of votes for remaining ZP zones will be taken up on February 28.
