Patna police lathicharges unsuccessful teacher aspirants.

Patna: The Patna police initiated a mild lathicharge on unsuccessful teacher aspirants who were protesting outside the office of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Wednesday.

The protestors were demanding supplementary results of the candidates who failed in the examination. They also claimed that the officials have taken bribes and candidates with lesser marks qualified in the examination while those with higher marks were declared failed.

More than one hundred unsuccessful candidates assembled at the gate of the BPSC office on Bailey road in Patna and shouted slogans against the authorities. The police who were present in large numbers resorted to a mild lathicharge to disperse the protestors.

Meanwhile, a five member delegation led by a student leader Dilip met BPSC chairman Atul Prasad and submitted a memorandum.

“We have handed over a memorandum demanding supplementary results for the remaining seats and the BPSC chairman agreed to our demand. He assured that the second cut-off list or supplementary results will be published soon,” Dilip said.

The BPSC had advertised 1.70 lakh teachers’ posts from class 1 to 5 and 9 to 12 and the examinations for them were held from August 24 to 26 this year. Only 1.22 lakh candidates qualified in the examinations.
