PD DUDAs to Be Engaged for Monitoring Functioning of ULBs in Odisha

.Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to engage Project Director for District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) for monitoring and supervising the functioning of Urban Local Bodies across the State.

In a Resolution, the Housing & Urban Development Department said, “With growing urbanization and complexities it is becoming increasingly difficult to effectively manage the ULBs across the state in the absence of effective supervision structure at the intermediate level. Hence as an immediate and interim measure, Government has been pleased to decide that the position of PD,DUDA shall be filled up from the pool of superannuated officers from OAS/ OFS/ OPS/ ORS /District Statistical Officer/ District Small savings Officer and any other District level Officers and provide them with appropriate orientation, training and handholding along with a strong PMU and logistics to meet various functional requirements”.

The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) shall engage the services of PD for DUDA in the districts in Odisha where the posts are lying vacant, the Resolution stated.

Terms of engagement shall be Purely Contractual basis, which shall be for a period of 1 year with consolidated remuneration of Rs 75,000 (Consolidated) per month. The expenditure required for this purpose shall be met from the Capacity Building fund available with SUDA. The TOR of the PD, DUDAs shall be prepared by SUDA and advertisement for filling up of the position of PD, DUDAs from among the retired Government employees shall be made by SUDA, it added.
