Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to postpone the process of Census Operations that are scheduled to start in the month of April in view of the Novel Corona Virus Pandemic. He has urged the prime minister to take a decision in this regard in the interest of the people.
In the letter, Naveen said, “As mobilization for Census and other concerned activities shall pose a great risk for field functionaries and people as well, I would rather suggest to postpone the scheduled Census and related activities in the country,”. “I would request that the central government may review the proposed Census and take appropriate decision in the interest of people,”.
The letter said that “We are all at present fighting against novel coronavirus pandemic. All efforts of state machinery are directed towards containment of COVID-19,”.
