Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) today said that the power tariff will remain unchanged for all classes of customers for the year 2019-20.
There would be no change in Retail Supply Tariff (RST) in the State for domestic consumers, commercial and industrial units for the year 2019-20, a statement issued by OERC said.
Notably, there was no hike in the power tariff last year.
As per the prevailing pricing structure, the consumers are charged Rs 2.50 per unit for the first 50 units, Rs 4.30 per unit for consumption above 50 units upto 200 units, Rs 5.30 per unit for consumption above 200 to 400 units and Rs 5.70 per unit for consumption above 400 units.
Meanwhile, the OERC has decided to provide 2 per cent rebate to consumers on online bill payments compared to 1 per cent earlier in order to promote digital payments.
Last time, the Commission had hiked 10 paise per unit in electricity tariff in 2017-18 fiscal.
