New Delhi: Odisha’s ace shuttler and Paralympics Gold medalist Pramod Bhagat will receive the prestigious ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’ for the year 2021.
Bhagat is among the 12 sportspersons to be given the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2021.
Tokyo Olympic gold medallist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, silver medal-winning wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya, boxer Lovlina Borgohain, and Paralympic Games medallists Avani Lekhara, Krishna Nagar, Sumit Antil, and Manish Narwal were among a dozen awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award by the government on Tuesday.
The ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’ is given for the spectacular and most outstanding performance in the field of sports by a sportsperson over a period of previous four years.
President Ram Nath Kovind will give away the National Sports Awards for 2021 at a special function at the Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 13.
