Bhubaneswar: The Pravasi Odias stranded in different States can now travel back to their home State free of cost as the Odisha Government has decided to bear ticket cost of migrants returning to the State if the host State is not bearing the same.
The State Government will provide Rs 5.5 crore to the Indian Railways for this purpose.
This has been informed by Commerce and Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera today.
The Minister said that Rs 5.5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) would be given to Indian Railways for bringing back migrants stranded in different states via Shramik Special trains.
Migrants now can travel back to the state free of cost, he added.
