Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind will arrive today in Odisha on a two day visit. He will be received by Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. The president will arrive at the Bhubaneswar Airport at about 2.30 pm and will head to Puri on a special helicopter. He will offer prayers at the Lord Jagannath Temple in the evening. President Koving is scheduled to inaugurate the three-year-long celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Srimad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad, the founder of the Gaudiya Math and Mission in Puri tomorrow.
The District administration has made elaborate arrangements for the visit of the President. Mock carcade rehearsals have been conducted by Puri Police. Barricading of the main routes through which the President will tour have been done. Forty platoons of police forces will be deputed for the security of the President’s visit. The Indian Air Force has inspected the Talabania Airport in Puri and conducted a mock drill. During the visit of the President to the Puri Temple, Darshan for the general pilgrims will be halted.
The President will first go the Lord Jagannath Temple and offer prayers. He will stay at the Raj Bhawan in the night. On Sunday, the President will inaugurate the three-year-long celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Srimad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad at the Gaudia Matha.
