Prof. Satish Agnihotri Presents Painting of Holy Trinity Printed on Jeevodaya Silk to Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: Former bureaucrat and Prof. Satish Agnihotri of IIT Mumbai on Sunday presented a painting of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra printed on Jeevodaya silk to BJD President and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik.

Prof. Agnihotri met the BJD President at Naveen Niwas and presented the painting of the holy Trinity.

Jeevodaya silk production is a technique where the worm is not killed but lays yarn on a flat surface and becomes a moth.

Sashwat Ghai, an M Tech student of C-TARA IIT Bombay has developed this technique.

Taking to his ‘X’ handle, Naveen said that he was glad to receive a painting of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra printed on Jeevodaya silk, from former bureaucrat and Prof. Satish Agnihotri.

Naveen further said that he was happy to know that Jeevodaya silk production method developed by M Tech student Sashwat Ghai and Prof Agnihotri team of IIT Bombay harvests silk without harming the silkworms and the worm lays yarn on flat surface.

The BJD President appreciated the compassionate initiative of producing silk.

Naveen also commended Sashwat Ghai and his guides Prof. Agnihotri and Prof. Amit Arora for this compassionate initiative.
