Puri: As many as 150 Daitapatis will be engaged for the conduct of Snana Yatra rituals of Lord Jagannath and His siblings – Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra in Puri.
Keeping in view of COVID-19 outbreak, the number of servitors has been reduced for this year’s Snana Yatra, the bathing rituals of the Trinity.
The list of sevayats for pahandi rituals has been prepared as per the Satwalipi (RoR) of Jagannath Temple. A total of 150 sevayats will participate in ‘Pahandi’ of the Trinity.
Of them, 60 will be engaged for pahandi of Lord Jagannath, 50 for Lord Balabhadra, 30 for Goddess Subhadra and 10 servitors will be in service of Lord Sudarshan to bring the deities from Ratna Singhasan to Snana Mandap, said Daitapati Nijog Secretary Durga Prasad Dasmohapatra.
COVID-19 test of all Daitas and servitors would be carried out. Before that, heath screening of Garabadu sevayats will be done on May 29 and May 30.
