Puri: In a bid to expedite the land acquisition process in Puri for taking up infrastructure projects approved under the ABADHA scheme, the state government has extended the date for land acquisition till December 9.
As per reports, at least 75 per cent of the total landholders have participated in the acquisition process till December 2.
The remaining acquisition will be completed by the deadline of December 9, 2019.
The acquisition of land and property for the ‘Development of Security Zone around Shree Jagannath Temple at Puri’ is being carried out as per the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 along with a special Rehabilitation and Resettlement policy.
Odisha government had earlier announced special rehabilitation and resettlement package for the affected people due to eviction drive around Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The government has decided to give 10 per cent more financial assistance along with the package under the policy to those who will hand over their properties located within the perview of Srimandir Protection zone (75-metre).
