Puri: Puri administration today evicted the Mahodadhi market complex located in Mochisahi area to clear unsafe and unauthorized structure from the vicinity of Sri Mandir.
The 50-year-old market complex, which was housing 58 shops and a cooperative society, was razed in the presence of Puri Sub Collector Bhabatran Sahu and Municipal Executive officer Bijay Kumar Das this morning.
Notably, constructed in 1968 the market complex had been declared unsafe by the administration around 2 years ago.
It is learnt that the administration has planned to set up a multi-level modern market complex in place of the bulldozed market. The shops will be available on rent in the new market.
