Puri: With lakhs of devotees expected to throng the holy city of Puri on New Year to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath, the Puri Police has made special arrangements for the crowd management.
Informing about it, Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh said that adequate security arrangements will be made in Puri town ahead of New Year.
The security arrangements will be divided into five parts. The vehicles will not be allowed on the Badadanda (grand road) from Marichikote square, the SP said.
He further said that special arrangements will be made for Divyang and senior citizens.
A feedback center will be set up along the green corridor for ambulances to facilitate movement of emergency vehicles, the SP informed.
There will be hotspot patrolling on the beach and police personnel will be deployed in the three outposts in the beach area.
Meanwhile, IGP (Central Range) Ashish Kumar Singh has reviewed the arrangements made for the crowd management in the pilgrim city.
