Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today asked all district Collectors to remain alert and prepared for flood-like situation as several parts of the States are likely to witness heavy downpour during the next two to three days.
In a letter to all district Collectors, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), said, the well-marked low-pressure area over North Bay of Bengal and neighborhood now lies over North-east Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Gangetic West Bengal and North Odisha and the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 7.6 KM above mean sea level tilting Southwestward with height.
Squally weather wind speed reaching 45-55 KMPH is likely over North Bay of Bengal and Along & off Odisha Coast, the letter further stated.
Red and yellow warning have been issued to several parts of the state while the fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off Odisha coast and north Bay of Bengal till August 27.
