Jaipur: In the wake of increasing number of mucormycosis or Black Fungus cases being found in recovered COVID-19 patients, the Rajasthan Government today declared the disease an epidemic.
“Mucormycosis has been notified as an epidemic and a notifiable disease in the state under the Rajasthan Epidemic Act 2020,” according to an official notification issued by the Government.
Earlier, the Haryana Government has declared Black Fungus as a notified disease.
“Black Fungus declared Notified Disease in Haryana. Now, doctors will report to CMOs of the district of any Black Fungus case detected,” Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said.
