Bhubaneswar: Continuing its zero tolerance policy towards corruption, the Odisha Government today suspended Rayagada Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) on charges of corruption.
Debarchan Behera, OFS, DFO, Rayagada Forest Division has been placed under suspension with immediate effect by the State Government taking note of the sensitivity and seriousness of allegations against him.
The official is facing serious allegation of corruption irregularities relating to construction and maintenance of Govt. building, working on Bamboo SSO coupes, purchase of store articles etc.
Besides, Behera is also facing allegations of sexual harassment to women staff at workplace.
This is serious in nature and violation of provisions Conduct rules for Govt. Servants, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention , Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013, an official statement said.
