Sambalpur : Dr. Suresh Chandra Dali, IAS, RDC, ND, Odisha, Sambalpur along with Dr. Dinabandhu Misha, CDVO, Sambalpur had a visit to Agro-Eco-Retreat of renowned agricluturist Shitikantha Behera.
The said farm is situated inside the deep of jungle Badamal, close to Hatibari of Jujumura Block , spread over over area of 13 Acre and the Place is full of natural beauty. The CDVO, Sambalpur briefed the RDC about the farm and the initiatives taken by Behera to develop it into a tourist place in upcoming days. Shri Behera is having a good source of income from the activities like animal husbandry (as the breeds were brought from the Gir of Gujurat and Sahiwal) and pissiculture. Except that use of Solar pannel for electrification of the farm, generation of Gobar Gas from cowdung, re use of the wastage in the field for agricultural purposes has make a significant impact on the RDC. Swimming pools and sitting places are also constructed for picnic.
The Commissioner was overwhelmed seeing the said farm and praised to Behera for the new initiatives and advised to arrange different training programs regarding animal husbandry and pissiculture in the said place so that many more farmers will be attracted and may try to maintain their livelihood.
