Cuttack: Renowned Odia writer and poet Binapani Mohanty has passed away. She breathed her last in Cuttack at the age of 85. Binapani was suffering from age related health issues for the last few days. Born in 1936, Binapani has written more than a hundred books and was also a Economic professor. She was conferred with the Padma Shri award in the year 2020.
She was well known for her works such as Patadei and Kasturi Mriga among others. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Atibadi Jagannatha Das Sammana by Odisha Sahitya Akademi and the Sarala Award. She had also served as the chairperson of Odisha Lekhika Sansad.
