Republic Day Celebrations Held at DePaul School Berhampur with Patriotic Fervour

Berhampur: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at DePaul School Berhampur with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

The day began with the solemn and proud hoisting of the Indian tricolor by Principal, Rev. Fr. Ricardo Pradhan C.M. along with Chief Guest Regis Henri Defontaine accompanied by the singing of the national anthem by our students and staff.

Following the flag hoisting ceremony, a vibrant cultural program unfolded showcasing the rich tapestry of India’s cultural heritage students from various grades presented a plethora of performances, including patriotic songs, dances, skits and recitations. These presentations not only entertained but also enlightened the audience about the spirit of unity, diversity and patriotism that defines the nation.

The Republic Day celebrations at De Paul School served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and the vision of the country’s founding fathers.

Republic Day, celebrated annually on January 26th, is a significant even in the history of India. It marks the day when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950, replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of the country.

India ushered in its 75th Republic Day with a grand display of its women power and military might. French President Emmanuel Macron has graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Coincidentally, the chief guest for Republic Day celebrations at DePaul School Berhampur was also from France.

On the invitation of Principal, Rev. Fr. Ricardo Pradhan C.M., Regis Henri Defontaine came from France to grace the occasion.

Notably, Fr. Ricardo Pradhan had his early education in France.
