Rourkela: In a further boost to hockey infrastructure in Odisha, the International Hockey Federation has accorded FIH Category 2 field certificate to the main field of Sports Hostel at Panposh in Rourkela of Sundargarh district.
“FIH is pleased to confirm that this hockey field has been tested and shown to comply with the requirements of an FIH Category 2 hockey field”, the FIH said.
Category 2 hockey fields are typically used for national and international matches, it added.
Congratulating the Department of Sports and Youth Services for the certification, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that this will further help nurture young talents at the grassroots level.
