Bhubaneswar: ‘UDYAM’, a first of its kind digital platform developed by Subarnapur district, will now be adopted at the State level to provide the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) an easy access to all entitlements under the Samagra Shiksha programme.
UDYAM is a single web platform and mobile application where the CWSN can apply online for availing benefits, such as escort allowance, transport allowance and stipends, under the Samagra Shiksha programme. It is also a repository for accessing all type of guidelines, acts, scholarship forms and documents meant for the differently-abled children.
The children with special needs are indeed special; they are a treasure house of potential and possibility. All they need is a little nudge in the right direction and a little support. The government has launched a slew of measures for this little angles but accessing them is a challenge they face every day because they have to visit here and there with hard copies. And it’s a recording procedure and must be done every year. In order to solve these problems once for all, Samagra Shiksha Subarnapur has developed the UDYAM platform.
The unique digital platform, which was unveiled by Subarnapur Collector Monisha Banerjee just a year ago, has come a long way in helping the students and their parents in the district.
Following the success of UDYAM in Subarnapur, the Odisha Government has now decided to roll out the app at the state level.
Bhupendra Singh Poonia, State Project Director, Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has asked the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to adopt the UDYAM app for the CWSN under Samagra Shiksha.
Poonia mentioned that the web portal and app system facilitates quick, easy, error-free and timely sanction of different allowances to the CWSN in a transparent manner and provides SMS alerts to the users.
He has urged the NIC to take needful action for adoption of same application/mobile app in OSEPA for the CWSN of all the districts of Odisha through OSEPA website.
