Sambalpur: The Sambalpur District administration has imposed curfew in the city with immediate effect till further orders to restore peace and normalcy in the region. The decision comes after tensions continued in various pockets of the cityt. The curfew order was issued by the Sub-collector under Section 144(1) of the CrPc. During curfew time, no individual or group of people are to exit their houses so as to ensure peace and tranquility in the jurisdictional area of Town, Dhanupali, Khetrajpur, Ainthapali. Bareipali and Sadar – police limits of Sambalpur with immediate effect until further orders, the order read.
However, in emergency for procurement of any essential items may be made during the hours of 8.00 AM to 10.00 AM and 3.30 PM to 5.30 PM.
The administration has also issued an helpline number for the people for medical emergencies. “Further for any medical emergencies a helpline is hereby declared. Citizens may reach out the District Headquarters Hospital helpline No.7655800760. The Order also read “It is also to take noted that, strict action as per law would be initiated against the violators of this aforementioned order,”.
