Sambalpur: Man Beheads Minor Girl, Walks in Village with Severed Head

Sambalpur: A man allegedly beheaded a minor girl and walked with severed head in the village in Sambalpur district.

The barbaric incident occurred in Kasada village under Jamankira police limits in Sambalpur on Friday.

Prashanta Bagar (30) of Kasada village beheaded an eight-year old girl of the same village and walked with severed head around the village.

As per the police, at about 7 AM on Friday, the minor girl had been to Tikramal land to attend the call of nature. At that time, the accused beheaded the victim by giving successive blows on her neck by means of an axe (Tangi). Then carried the head of the victim to the nearby tubewell of the village and washed it.

On getting information, the local police headed by IIC Jamankira PS immediately rushed to the spot, apprehended the accused Prasanta Bagar, seized the weapon of offence and other material clues from the spot by utilising the services of the Scientific Team at the spot.

The dead body of the deceased has been sent to SDH Kuchinda for PM examination. The investigation is under progress, the police said.
