Bhubaneswar: Schools in Odisha will reopen after the summer vacations from today. All classes will resume from today in all the schools except western Odisha from today. Schools in western Odisha will open from tomorrow but in the morning session only. The Department of School and Mass Education has issued a directive to all district collectors to reopen schools after the summer vacations. “After due consideration of the weather prediction, it has been decided to reopen all schools on June 21, with a regular timetable,” said the statement issued by the SME Department.
Keeping in view the heat wave conditions, the collectors of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Angul, Subarnapur, and Balangir have been asked to decide on the either extend the holidays or shift the school timings to morning if the situation requires. Accordingly, authorities in western Odisha districts have decided to open the schools from tomorrow and the timing has been fixed from 6. 30 am to 10 am. The morning shift in these districts will continue till 24th June 2023.
