Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi today held an urgent meeting with the top officials of the state Government to discuss on the ongoing Panchayat polls and the law and order situation. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra, DGP Sunil Bansal, Home Secretary and other senior officials.
The meeting was convened to deliberate on the few incidents of disturbances that occurred during the first phase of the polling yesterday.
Speaking to media after the meeting, DGP Sunil Bansal said that strict action is being taken against the persons who indulged in the disruptions and the police will not show leniency to those who are disrupting the polls.
