Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Sonepur has recorded today’s day time temperature in the state at 43.8 degrees. Capital city Bhubaneswar has also recorded daytime temperature of 43.3 degree Celsius today – the season’s highest as the state sizzles under intense heat wave conditions. Along with Bhubaneswar, Angul also recorded 43.1 degrees day time temperature today. While eight places in Odisha recorded temperatures of more than 42 degrees, in total 28 places recorded temperatures of 40 degrees or more in the last 24 hours.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for the state in the next four days and the temperatures in many places of internal Odisha can rise by more than 3 to five degrees. The Odisha Special Relief Commissioner has also issued an advisory to Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir Mayurbhanj, and Kalahandi for taking precautionary steps.
