Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted that the southwest monsoon is likely to arrive in Odisha in the next four to five days.
The IMD said that southwest monsoon advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Telangana and some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal, today the 3rd June.
“Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of south peninsular India, some parts of south Chhattisgarh and south Odisha, some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 4-5 days”, the IMD further stated.
Meanwhile, the maximum day temperature is likely to be above normal by 3-5°C at many places over the districts of interior Odisha during next two days due to the prevailing dry conditions in the state and strengthening of northwesterly dry winds in middle & upper level of the atmosphere, the Regional Centre of the IMD stated.
