Puri: With the inauguration of the Srimandira Parikrama Prakalpa remaining just a few hours from now, the whole city of Puri is agog with religious fervor and spiritual atmosphere has engulfed. The Srikhestra is filled with Vedic Mantras and the Yagnasala is reverberating with chants of the four Vedas and Jay Jagannath. The Mahayagya by the priests is going on at the Heritage Corridor site for the inauguration ceremony. Nama Sankirtana and the sounds of the conch are fulfilling the spiritual emotions of the devotees.
The whole city is decked up to the occasion as final touches are being given for inauguration program. Nama Sankirtan is going on on the Parikrama path. The performance of Sahijat Sankirtan is giving a divine feel to the devotees. The priests conducting various rituals associated with the Maha Yagna like Surya Puja, Dhartri Puja, Gopuja, Shal Pravesh, Panchakarma, Mandalpuja, Havan, Aarti, Pushpanjali Pradakshina. According to sources, tomorrow, after the Surya puja, Dharatri puja, gopuja, panchakarma, vastu shodhan and adhivasa, the Parikrama Prakalpa plaque will be unveiled by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik between 1.15 PM and 1.30 AM.
According to the schedule, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Dev will perform the Yajna Purnahuti, Aarti and Pushpanjali will be performed from 1.30 pm to 2 pm tomorrow. The felicitation ceremony will be held from 2.30 pm to 3 pm at the auditorium. After 3 pm, devotees and pilgrims can witness the grandeur of the Srimandira Parikrama Marga. Light and sound shows have been arranged for the devotees in the evening. A special Pradakshana Marga has also been prepared for the devotees. Basic facilities for the visitors have been made avai;able and the Temple administration has made arrangements of 50 battery operated vehicles for the movement of the differently-abled and elderly devotees.
