Puri: The Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri has reopened for the family members of the servitors from today after the gap of nearly four months.
They are allowed darshan of the deities today and tomorrow.
The residents of Puri town will be allowed entry to the temple for five days from August 16 to August 20.
All devotees will be allowed to visit the 12th century shrine from August 23.
Srimandir remained out of bounds for devotees since April 24, 2021 in view of the second wave of Covid-19.
Earlier, Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) about the reopening of the temple following a meeting with Chhatisa Nijog members.
