Bhubaneswar: The sevayats of Puri Srimandir today met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after the Supreme Court verdict on Heritage Corridor Project.
A group of sevayats of Lord Jagannath Temple met the Chief Minister at Naveen Niwas this evening and expressed their happiness over the verdict.
Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian was present during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the people of Odisha, especially the residents of the pilgrim city of Puri have welcomed the verdict of the apex court.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court dismissed the pleas challenging the Heritage Corridor Project of the Odisha Government.
The top court has told in its verdict that there is no merit in the PILs filed, and such filing such petitions are a waste of judicial time. It added that such frivolous PILs need to be ‘nipped in the bud’ so that development work is not stopped.
The petitioners have been fined by the SC with a penalty of Rs 1 lakh each.
