Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the upcoming monsoon and cyclone season, a statewide disaster management mock drill is being carried out across Odisha.
The mock drill is being done in all District Headquarters, Blocks and cyclone and flood shelters. Officials are undertaking the drill at all the 879 multipurpose shelters and flood shelters of the state on the preparedness for rescue and relief operations. Also, the mock drills will include a check on the available materials and emergency equipments such as emergency lights, tower lights, tree cutters, generators and keeping them ready for rescue and relief at the shelters.
Officials including BDOs, Sub-Collectors, ADMs, Tahasildars, PRI Members, villagers, Fire Services teams and other key officials are taking part in the mock drills.
