Berhampur: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police on Saturday seized one illegal leopard hide and arrested one wildlife criminal in this connection in Boudh district.
Based on reliable information, a team of STF conducted raid near Ranipathar village Charichhak under Puruna Katak PS Jurisdiction in the district regarding dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminal.
The wildlife criminal identified as Goutam Behera (55) Nuasahi, Surudukumpa, PS. Phulabani Sadar in Knadhamal district was apprehended by the STF.
The STF team seized one Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials from the possession of Behera.
The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possession of such leopard skin, for which he has been arrested, STF stated.
Further investigation is underway, the STF added.
