Boudh: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch today seized a live pangolin near Kantamala in Boudh district and arrested one wildlife criminal in this connection.
Based on reliable information, a team of STF with the help of Boudh forest officials conducted a raid near Khuntigura village between Kantamal – Baliguda Road under Kantamala police limits under Boudh district.
The team has rescued the live Pangolin weighing around 12.4 kilograms and held a wildlife criminal, who has been identified as Biseswar Bagarti.
The Pangolin was handed over to Boudh DFO for safe custody, as per reports.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, the STF added.
The STF has seized as many as 15 live pangolins since 2020 in its special drive against wildlife criminals and poachers.
